The Mountain

Living in Steamboat Springs wouldn’t be the same without the Steamboat Ski Resort and the amenities and neighborhoods that surround and support our most treasured asset. From the southwest neighborhood of Tree Haus to as far north as The Sanctuary, to the southern collection of homes surrounding Whistler Park, homes for sale near the Steamboat Resort are a mix of single-family homes, apartments, condos, and luxury estates for everyone. At the base of the ski area is where most multi-unit apartments and condos are located with prices varying from affordable condos to ultra-luxurious penthouses and ski-in ski-out residences. The Sanctuary and Boulder Ridge, located at the northern end of the Mountain boundary, are some of the most coveted and luxurious addresses one can have in Steamboat. Platted around the 18-hole Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club, Fish Creek meanders through The Sanctuary neighborhood with old-growth aspen, fir trees, and large granite boulders being the defining features of the area. The Whistler Park subdivision to the south has been an enclave for families and fulltime Steamboat residents for decades. Consisting of mostly single-family homes on larger lots with an occasional multi-family duplex or complex, the heart and soul of homes for sale in the Whistler Park neighborhood is the 9.2-acre Whistler Park. A large playground, fields for football, lacrosse, and soccer, and an off-leash dog park are what have been a haven for property owners and visitors alike. There is also access to Walton Creek and its many nature trails that follow the creek all the way back into town on the Yampa River Core Trail. The Core Trail runs for almost 7 miles from Whistler Park to the far west side of Steamboat near the James Brown Soul Center of the Universe Bridge. The free Steamboat Springs City Transit Bus has routes all over the Mountain neighborhoods which makes downtown, shopping, and sightseeing all that more accessible. When you talk about views that frame the ski resort like no other, to the southwest of the Steamboat Resort is the Tree Haus neighborhood with its homes perched up on the eastern facing hillside that offer spectacular alpen glow sunsets and wintery snow globe experiences of the resort. With 120 lots, Tree Haus offers the feeling of being in a remote part of town and yet shopping, restaurants, the Yampa River Core Trail, and the Steamboat Resort are all less than 10 minutes away. The Mountain area never rests with World Cup competitions, free concerts at the resort base, holiday festivities, the Burgess Creek beach scene during the summer, miles of mountain biking and hiking trails, night skiing, and one of the best aprés-ski scenes in North America. It is not hard to see why this is the focus of our valley and the soul of the Steamboat Experience.
